Court hands over Anjum to Islamabad police on three day physical remand

ISLAMABAD: Civil Court of Federal Territory has handed over the custody of MNA from PML(N) Anjum Aqeel Khan to Islamabad police on three day physical remand in the fraud case.

On Monday Shalimar Police Station presented MNA Anjum Aqeel Khan in the court of Civil Judge Islamabad Liaquat Ali Kharal under sections 406 and 409 of PPC. During the hearing capital police took the plea that the accused took the amount of Rs 0.95 million by fraud so he may be remanded for seven days. During arguments, the lawyers of Anjum Aqeel opposed the physical remand of their clients.
After listening argument of both sides , the court handed over MNA to Islamabad police on three day physical remand and instructed police that he may be presented in court on 21 July.
After proceeding MNA Anjum Aqeel Khan said , while talking to the media that he is being victimized politically and the facts are contrary to the picture painted by Islamabad police. Responding a question he said that his party stood behind him and cancellation of his membership is out of question. “I am already facing all the cases and will also face them in the future”, he added.
