PPP Punjab recommends to expel Qureshi from the party

Lahore: The parliamentary committee of Pakistan Peoples Party Punjab has recommended for ceasing the basic membership of former Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi from the party.

The urgently called party meeting was held at Lahore on Thursday under the chairmanship of PPP leader Zulfiqar Gondal, which burst out at Shah Mehmood Qureshi over the meeting with PML (N) leader Mian Nawaz Sharif in connection with opposition’s grand alliance against the government.
“Senior member of PPP, Shah Mehmood Qureshi met Nawaz Sharif without any prior approval of the party leadership, so the parliamentary committee of PPP demands Co-Chairperson of the party President Asif Ali Zardari to take action against him and his membership of PPP might be terminated at once as he previously had also violated the party discipline several times ”, the meeting added.
Some members of the parliamentary committee declared Shah Mehmood Qureshi “ spiritual son of General Zia-ul-Haq” by saying that, as true worker of PPP could not forget Bhutto, similarly, the soul of General Zia-ul-Haq could not be get away from the elements like Shah Mehmood Qureshi.
The provincial parliamentary committee of PPP also showed resentment over Quershi’s appalling behaviour with the party workers within party meetings in the past and said that Peoples Party has deep roots in the masses and there is no room for such a proud man in the rank and file of the party.
