FC to be deployed in Karachi to maintain peace: Rehman Malik

Federal Interior Minister, Rehman Malik said Frontier Constabulary (FC), personnel would also be deployed in Karachi to maintain law and order situation. Talking to media at Jinnah International Airport, he said those FC personnel, who are available in the city, will be ready and deployed by 10 am on July 8, while 1000 more FC men will also reach Karachi in a day or two. The Federal Interior Minister said he has come to Karachi on the directives of President Asif Ali Zardari, to look into the situation. He said no operation would be launched in Karachi, only targeted action would be taken against terrorists and miscreants. Rehman Malik said the terrorists and miscreants want to de-stabilize the country.
He appealed to all political parties, not to allow any third party to take advantage of the situation.     
He said those miscreants, who are disturbing peace in the city, they are not different from Taliban.
He said all political parties, including MQM, ANP and JUI are patriotic entities and we intend taken joint action against anti-state elements.
He said every one want peace in the country and the countrymen should also identify the enemies of peace.
He also promised that arrested criminals and miscreants would be brought before the media.
Rehman Malik said details about locations of the miscreants in Karachi have also been collected by utilizating  latest technologies including satellite.
Modern means are also being used to monitor the situation in disturbed areas in the metropolis, he added.
To a question, he said stage protest or sitting in treasury benches or Opposition is democratic right of the MQM.
He informed the mediamen that Rangers personnel have been deployed in the affected areas including Katti Pahari.
He also appealed to activists of ANP, MQM and people to remain calm and cooperate with the government to maintain tranquility.
He told a questioner that he would suggest during his expected meeting with the Sindh Chief Minister to pay compensation to families of those, who were martyred in violence in the city. APP
