The Jamaat-e-Islami Amir Syed Munawar Hasan has said the people talking of a
Grand Alliance should first tender an apology to the nation for their
blunders and also announce to disassociate from those supporting
foreign aggression and in land loot and plunder.
He deplored that millions of people affected by the devastating
floods last year were still on roads without shelter while the foreign
aid for them had been misappropriated by the corrupt rulers.
Talking to a delegation of flood affected people from Jackobabad
attending the JI monthly workshop at Mansoora on Tuesday; he said the
recent heavy rains had added to the agony of the marooned people who
were facing a fresh flood.
He said that tents, blankets, food stuff and other relief goods
received from abroad for the flood affectees had been openly selling in
the market with the blessing of the rulers.
He said that the government was not serious about the threat of fresh floods this year and was not taking preventive measures.
The JI chief said that the rulers had failed to provide any relief
to the people and the democratic government was continuing dictatorial
policies.
He said that the doors of the JI were open to all but it won’t be a
part of any alliance that did not enjoy the confidence of the masses.
He said that the US had been defeated in Afghanistan and was begging for dialogue with the Taliban but unfortunately, the Pakistani rulers feared that they would be lost with the US departure from the region.

Syed Munawar Hasan said that the JI alone could steer the country
out of the present crisis. He said if the nation wanted to free itself
from the thieves and the corrupt people, it would have to rise above
petty personal considerations and give priority to the vital national
interests, and elect honest and competent people. SANA
