Karachi continues to bleed

Karachi: Stress still prevailed in Karachi inspite of measures taken by IG Sindh including postings of SPs, suspension of SHOs and imposing section 144 in the city.

In Orangi Town, clashes between two armed groups claimed life of seven people while 26 injured including a journalist of private TV channel. Some miscreants also opened firing on tea stall and a passenger bus due to which several people injured. Some unknown persons put a car ablaze in Qadafi Chowk due to which vehicle turned to ashes . Three people including Ijaz, Salah-ud-Din and Akbar were killed.
The commandos could be deputed despite the directive form IG Police Sindh The residents are in the grip of panic due to increasing incidents of firings. The traders close their shops early in the evening. It is very much possible that provincial home department might impose ban on pillion riding on motorbikes soon due to escalating tension in the city.
Near Old Sabzi Mandi, the armed fight took place between the workers of two students wing of political parties , All Pakistan Muhajir Students Organization (AMPSO) and Pakhtoon Students Federation . Due to cross firing three persons including a woman received injuries. After the incident the shops were shut down in the area .Due to intense firing traffic was blocked on University Road from Hassan Square to Sir Shah Sulman Road. All the injured were shifted to Liaquat National Hospital.
Some unknown people also opened firing on road side tea stall located at Qasba Colony Morr, however police could not reach on the spot till late night. In the same locality Unit In-charge of ANP Rahim Sawati was injured when some people open fire on his office. He was rushed to the hospital in critical condition. Online
