One girl killed, two injured in Sukkur Railway Colony roof collapse

SUKKUR: One ten-year old little girl has been reportedly killed and two other girls injured as roof of a house collapsed in Railway Colony near Sukkur here on Sunday.

According to the media reports, a railway employee’s old and poor conditioned house’s roof collapsed in Rohri Locomotive Shed Railway Colony near Sukker; railway employee’s ten year old daughter buried in the debris and died under it while two other daughters sustained critical injuries.
The Railway Running Staff halted many trains at Rohri Station as protest against roof collapse and death of baby girl of fellow worker.
Among the halted trains were included Karachi bound, Super Express, Karachi Express, Allama Iqbal Express, Khanpur bound Rohri Express and Quetta bound Jaffarabad Express.
Owing to halt at Rohri Station, the passengers of trains including children and women faced great difficulties during hours of stoppage at the station. The passengers also staged protest and surrounded office of the Station Master of Rohri Station.
Finally, after successful dialogue between Railway Running Staff and management of Pakistan Railways, the trains were allowed to move towards their destinations.
The management of Pakistan Railway agreed upon to pay Rs. 300,000 as compensation money against death of little girl. Online
