PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa government has empowered DCOs and
administrators of the province with additional authorities to have a
check on the prices of edibles during Ramzan-ul-Mubarak.
The
Administrators will be given additional charges of class-1 Magistrates
for the provision of quality daily use items including atta, sugar,
ghee and others to the people at concessionary rate.
Sources
further told that the provincial government has decided to take action
against the traders and businessmen under Civil MPO, if they will
involve in artificial price hike. Under the Civil MPO Act, they will be
sent to jail for three moths a punishment.
Moreover, the
provincial government has coordinated with the federal government to
stop the smuggling of edibles and also requested to the Centre to
cancel all licenses which are being issued illegally. Online
