All documentary evidence against former Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf in the Akbar Bugti murder case has been lost, a lawyer pleading on behalf of Bugti's eldest son, Jamil, has said.
According to the Express Tribune, Shakil Hadi said that all evidence against Musharraf and six others accused of Bugti's murder is untraceable due to negligence on part of the police and other relevant authorities of the Balochistan government.
"The whole case has been spoiled by the police that was supposed to investigate the matter," Hadi added.
Hadi also said that neither the Home Department nor the police know about who lost the evidence.
Bugti was the head of the Bugti tribe of Balochistan and had served as the Chief Minister of Balochistan.
After a wave of terrorism started in Balochistan in 2004, Bugti was widely perceived as a leader, but he went underground in 2005.
He was killed when a shell exploded in the cave in which he was hiding in August 2006, which led to widespread unrest in the province. ANI
