AC releases Siddiqui in SGS reference

RAWALPINDI : Accountability Court has exonerate one of the co-accused and former Chairman CBR (Now FBR) A. R. Siddiqui ,whereas issued permanent arrest warrant against a foreigner in SGS reference.

The final hearing of SGS Corruption Reference was held in the court of Judge AC-II , Mian Altaf Hussain Mahar . The court in its decision stated that the case against former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto was ended with her death, whereas President Asif Ali Zardari has constitution immunity as head of state.
The foreign co-accused in the case was the Director of SGS Inc Switzerland, James Schalagul who did not appear before the court inspite of repeated notices , so he had been declared earlier proclaimed offender by the court in the case. Now the court has issued his permanent arrests warrants. The warrants would stand till either the arrest of Schalagul or he would appear before the court voluntarily.
The fourth co-accused of the case was Ex –CBR Chief A.R.Siddiqui , who was under custody of police since long, was released by the court It is pertinent to mention here that during the regime of Nawaz Sharif a reference was sent by Saif-ur-Rehman former Chairman NAB at that time to Accountability Court against former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, her spouse Asif Zardari, A.R. Siddiqui and a foreigner accused James Schalagul for giving contract of pre-shipment to SGS Inc Switzerland which was clear cut violation of the rules and regulation. Online
