LAHORE: Provincial Law Minister Rana Sana Ullah Khan said that we do not have any objection in order to set up a commission for making news provinces, but it should not be based on ethnic identity.
While talking to media men here outside the Punjab Assembly, he said that PML-N has no objection making new provinces, however, “we will not support the notion of new provinces based on ethnic bases.”
He claimed that the politicians from Southern Punjab deliberately deprived the people of the region so that they could take their political mileage and now the same politiciansare demanding separate provinces.
Rana Sana said that a large number of Prime Ministers, Chief Ministers, Presidents and Governors belonged to Southern Punjab, but deliberately they kept the region deprived for their vested interests. These politicians again tend to rule this region just for their own interest but not for the poor people, he said.
Law Minister maintained that if we really want to have new provinces, then a commission should set up to review the overall situation of the country and if there would be a requirement of new provinces then PML-N would have no objection.
He claimed that aid from US was the major reason of drone attacks in the country, therefore, there is dire need to say good bye to US aid. Online
