Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani has condemned the incidents of target killings and terrorism in Karachi.
He said that law and order is a provincial subject so the federal government cannot directly interfere in it.
Responding to the points raised by other opposition members regarding Karachi incidents, he said that he has discussed the issue with the Governor and Chief Minister of Sindh Province as well as the Interior Minister and has sought an immediate report from them, adding that findings of the Karachi incident will be shared with the House.
On the demand of Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao, the Prime Minister announced formation of a Victim Trust for the bereaved families of those killed in the acts of terrorism, adding that Shuhada Fund for military personnel already exists for which he had provided a seed money.
He said that separate victim funds have also been established in the information departments for the journalists.
The PM said that boys and girls schools besides the hospitals are the soft targets for the terrorists and he assured the House that the foreign assistance will be fully utilized for the reconstruction of the schools damaged in the acts of terrorism. SANA
