Parliamentary Committee for appointment of judges in higher judiciary approved the nomination of two judges for Federal Shariat Court and proposal about the Justice (retd) Fazalur Rehman’s name was rejected.
Chairman Committee Senator Nayyar Hussain Bokhari headed the meeting of Parliamentary Committee, which was held at parliament house on Tuesday.
Six members were present in the meeting and they reviewed the suggestions of Judicial Commission related to appointment of judges in Federal Shariat Court.
The committee approved the Rizwan Ali and Dr Fida Muhammad Khan names for the appointment of judges of Federal Shariat Court and rejected the name of justice (retd) Fazalur Rehman because he took oath as a member of Election Commission in the past. SANA
