Pakistan on hit list of Al-Qaeda after OBL’s killing: Rehman Malik

ISLAMAABD: Interior Minister Rehman Malik on Monday said Pakistan is on the hit list of Al-Qaeda after the killing of its chief Osama Bin Laden.
Speaking in the Upper House (Senate), the minister reiterated the resolve of government to root out terrorism from the country and region. He said, “The whole nation is committed and united to eliminate terrorism from the country and the region as this great nation has rendered unmatched sacrifices in war against terrorism.”
Speaking on the brutal incident of Karachi, he said that he ordered for arrestment of involved Rangers instantly after the matter reported in the media. He offered the parliament to hold in-camera briefing on Karachi incident adding they got information about surveillance-man who arrested the victim Sarfaraz Shah.
Malik stated those who are carrying out terrorist activities in the country are mercenaries and they have no faith in religion.
About Islamabad’s bomb blast he said information will be shared with media after completing the investigation. He said the security guard killed in the blast will be awarded Sitar-i-Jurat. He also announced that the government will provide financial assistance to victim family.
Referring to Abbottabad operation, he said people should wait for the report of the commission. He said the government can do nothing if any member separates himself from the commission.
It is vital to mention here that a brave security guard sacrificed his life in Islamabad on Monday to avert a major tragedy from taking place.
