Paris: Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani said Wednesday the fact that Osama
bin Laden had been found hiding in a villa in the city of Abbottabad was an
indictment not just of Pakistan’s intelligence gathering, but of that of the
’whole world.
Speaking to reporters in Paris, where he is on a three-day visit, Gilani
said: ’There is intelligence failure of the whole world, not Pakistan alone.’
The United States was among those which he considered had fallen short of the
mark.
“No one shares failure, but every one wants to take credit of victory, The
whole world went away from the Afghan war but the only Pakistan had to face dare
consequences of that. No country in the world can alone fight against terrorism
without international support.”, he added.
The Prime Minister said the entire world has adopted very strange behavior
with Pakistan. Due to operations of Pak Army, in the border areas terrorist were
forced to run away. Without Pakistan , world can not be triumphant in the war
against terrorism. “It was Pakistan who communicate vital information in the
process intelligence sharing with USA and allied forces.
Earlier addressing the French the organization of French traders PM said that
the investors could earn profit by investing in Pakistan without any fear. The
government as well as the people would fully back them. Gilani eHe Hhe hoped
that in spite of war against terrorism and many other challenges, the future of
the country is bight.
He said the Pakistan is keen to concrete the relations with France as well as
to develop people to people contact of two countries. He said that the purpose
of his tour was to enhance the economic and trade ties with France.
“Pakistan is indulged in the war against terrorism as she has to bear heavy
financial as well as life loss due to it. Unfortunately the adverse image was
presented in the world in spite of painting correct picture of the country”, PM
added.
He said that Pakistan is looked only in the backdrop of terrorism whereas
today’s Pakistan is quite different with the Pakistan of past, which is inching
towards prosperity, progress and peace , a country full of natural resources
that is geographically situated at the hub of east and west.
The Prime Minister was of the view that the apprehensions of investors are
acceptable but there are so many foreign investors which not only residing in
the country fro the last three years but also gaining reasonable profit on their
investment from Pakistan. Some 700 multi national firms including 30 French
companies are working there at the moment.
He said that the whole nation is committed to fight against all challenges
including terrorism . Peoples of Pakistan have given lot of sacrifices for
democracy and eradicating terrorism due to which the democracy prevails in
Pakistan . The media and judiciary are free there. The democratic government has
strengthened the institutions by gathering all the resources.
“I assure investors that they should come to Pakistan by keeping aside the
old impression of the country and invest in different sectors including energy
and government would facilitate them at every level”, Gilani added.
The Prime Minister was of the view that the business community plays an
important role in the development of any country as they did in the progress of
France.
He said that both Pakistan and France have good relations which would be
further fortified The establishment of Common Business Council and Economic
Committee is a one step forward towards fiscal cooperation between the two
sides.
“Pakistani nation could be saved from terrorism and extremism by providing
them education, health and job opportunities as the country is fighting the war
to set up peace in the world”, Prime Minister Gilani added. Online
