Brussels: NATO’s chief Anders Fogh Rasmussen urged Pakistan on Wednesday to
make progress in the battle against terrorism in the wake of Osama bin Laden’s
killing by US forces near Islamabad.
Anders Fogh Rasmussen told a news conference here in Brussels that the
alliance wanted Pakistan to take more step to abolish terrorists from its soil.
"We have encouraged the Pakistani authorities to reinforce the fight against
terrorists and extremists, in particular in the Pakistan-Afghanistan border
region," NATO Secretary General said.
"We have seen progress, I think there is potential for more progress," he
said.
"We must actively cooperate with the Pakistani government and military in
order to strengthen efforts against terrorists in the border region," Rasmussen
added. Online
