Corps Commanders’ to discuss situation arising after Osama bin Laden killing today

RAWALPINDI : Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani has summoned the Corps Commanders conference here on today (Thursday) to review the situation arising after the US forces operation in Abbottabad to kill the al-Qaeda Chief Osama bin Laden.

According to a private TV channel, Chief of Army Staff General Kayani would chair the meeting.
According to another TV channel on Tuesday General Kayani also chaired high-level meeting of the army at the General Headquarters (GHQ), in which DG ISI Lieutenant Gen Ahmed Shuja Pasha briefed the meeting about the situation arising after the killing of Osama bin Laden in US Special Forces Group raid in Abbottabad.
Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani in his remarks said that the world should not caste any suspicion look on the role of Pakistan in war against terrorism.
Meanwhile DG Military Operations and other senior officers of the army also attended the Wednesday meeting.
According to sources Gen Kayani consulted important Corps Commanders and DG ISI Shuja Pasha during last two days about the situation arising after the death of Osama in Abbottabad and about the possible reaction of Taliban and al-Qaeda after the death of Osama.
After holding discussion the COAS Gen Kayani has summoned the Corps Commanders’ conference today (Thursday) to discuss various suggestions over the current situation.
Gen Kayani would take Corps Commanders into confidence regarding the recent meetings with US high command including Chairman Joint Chiefs’ of Staff Admiral Mike Mullen and future course of action would be finalized.
According to the private TV channel sources the military leadership of Pakistan could adopt strict stance after the killing of Osama. SANA
