ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari has made it clear country’s nuclear
assets are in safe hands and no compromise will be made on their command and
control system.
President said this during his meetings with members of parliament in
Aiwan-e-Sadr here Wednesday. Those who called on the president included defence
minister Ahmad Mukhtar, deputy chairman Senate Jan Muhammad Jamali, Dr Asim
Hussain, PPP secretary information Qamar Zaman Kaira and others.
Safeguarding the national integrity and sovereignty during war against
terrorism is our top priority, he underlined.
According to sources President said Pakistan had apprised its coalition
partners in war against terrorism and US of its reaction on what had happened in
Abbottabad. War on terror would continue, he reiterated.
As per Online President Zardari said his party was continuing with the
process of reconciliation and it was his endeavor that political forces should
unite and play their role in extricating the country from crisis. Under the
broad based reconciliation process, MQM had also consented to rejoin the
government, he told.
Government was alive to the difficulties and problems facing the common man
and it would strive to provide relief to people in the upcoming budget, he told.
People would get good news in the next budget, he observed.
He stressed that elected representatives of people should play pivotal role
in addressing the problems of people. Online
