Family of Raymond Davis' victim shifts to Pak's Toba Tek Singh

Toba Tek Singh : The family of the deceased Faheem Shamshad, who was shot dead by a United States national Raymond Davis, has shifted to Pakistan's Toba Tek Singh city.

The news came to light when Faheem's brother-in law, Rana Afzal reached the city on Monday but his father-in law (Faheem's father) Rana Shamshad denied him entry into the house.

The heated exchange between the two men revealed that Afzal's wife (Faheem's sister) along with her four children is residing with her father, The Nation reports.

Shamshed revealed that he shifted to Toba Tek Singh along with his wife and three sons after receiving a compensation of Rs 100 million for his son's (Faheem's) murder.

He claimed he had done nothing wrong by accepting compensation as it was in the larger interest of his country after consultation with the elders and nobles. He refused to divulge the names of elders who were consulted.

Shamshed's neighbours confirmed that the family has shifted a month ago and was planning to start a business.

The murder of Faizan Haider and Faheem Shamshad by CIA contractor Raymond Davis on January 27 in Lahore had ignited a furore in Pakistan, given the high rise of anti-Americanism in the country. (ANI)
