9 Killed in Pakistan Blast

A bomb blast targeting a pro-government tribe elder killed at least nine persons and injured 14 others in Peshak Bazaar in Tehsil Salaarzai of Bajur Agency, an area located near to Pak-Afghan border.
Blast also destroyed six shops. Banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has claimed the responsibility of the attack.
Blast targeting a hotel was an attempt to kill chief leader of Tribal National Militia Malik Tehsil Khan and Malik Mian Jan who were killed in the attack.
Eye witnesses told that the blast was carried out through a remote controlled device while some witnesses said it was a suicide attack.
Death toll is expected to rise due to rush in the market at the time of the attack. Injured have been transferred to the District Headquarters Hospital Khar.
President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani, PML-N Quaid Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, Chief Minister Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif, Awami National Party Chief Asfand Yar Wali Khan, Interior Minister Rehman Malik, Defense Minister Chaudhry Ahmed Mukhtar, PML-Q President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, Senor Minister Chaudhry Pervez Elahi, Governor Punjab Sardar Latif Khan Khosa, MQM leader Altaf Hussain, Ameer Jamat-e-Islami Munawwar Hassan and JUI-F leader Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman have condemned the attack on the tribal militia elders and offered sympathies with the families of martyred and injured.
Prime Minister Gilani strongly condemned the bomb blast in Pusht Bazar Salarzai, Bajor Agency that has resulted into death of innocent people and injuries to many.
The Prime Minister directed the concerned investigating agencies to probe into the incident and submit a report at the earliest.
He expressed his condolences and sympathies with the families of those who lost their lives and asked the Provincial Government to take care of the injured. SANA
