Islamabad : Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani directed Interior Ministry to clear backlog of Machine Readable Passports and Computerized National Identity Cards for local and overseas Pakistanis.
Talking to Pakistan Ambassador to UAE Jamil Ahmed Khan Thursday at PM House, he also directed Directorate General of Immigration & Passports and NADRA to facilitate expeditious clearance of documents for Pakistanis in UAE, in coordination with Pakistan’s mission.
Gilani noted UAE had now emerged as largest source of foreign remittances and instructed Pakistani mission to redouble efforts to increase their volume by providing assistance to 1.2 million Pakistanis.PPI
