KARACHI, April 21 (PPI): Five people including an activist of PPP were killed in different violence incidents in metropolis on Thursday.
In the first incident a man stabbed to death his wife at Jummah Goth in the wee hours of Thursday within the limits of Ibrahim Hyderi police station.The incident took place at Jummah Goth, Bin Qasim Town, when 28-year-old Khadija wife of Jaffar went to her parent’s house after quarreling with her husband. His husband reached his father-in-law’s home and forced her wife to go back with him and on her refusal he attacked her with dagger and fled.The injured woman was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for medical treatment where she succumbed to her injuries. SP Tanveer Alam Odho said the victim was the mother of two children and her husband is a labour by hisprofession. However, police registered FIR against accused Jaffar and initiated further probe.The body was later handed over to the heirs. Separately Shershah Police found two days old torture marked body from Lyari River.It was shifted to the Civil Hospital Karachi for medico-legal formalities. The identity of victim was yet to be ascertained. After completing the legal formalities police moved the body to Edhi Morgue. Police registered a case against unidentified men on the behalf of state. In another incident a man was killed by firing in Surjani Town when unidentified armed men opened fireon a milk shop.Surjani Police said that unidentified armed men riding a bike opened fire on Akhtar son of Mohammad Asghar in Sector 7-D of Surjani Town. He received a bullet at head and died on way to hospital.The body was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico-legal formalities. The victim was the resident of same area. Separately, an activist of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) was gunned down in the limits of Sachal Police Station, police and party sources said.Police said that unidentified armed men riding a bike opened indiscriminate firing on Mirza Noman Baig, 24 son of Masood Baig near Rizwan Housing Society and fled in Gulistan-e-Jauhar. As a result he received bullet injuries and died on the spot.The body was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center JPMC for medico-legal formalities.The victim was the resident of same area and was the Information Secretary of PPP U-C 10 and activist of PS 126 Gulshan Town. PPP Karachi leaders Najmi Alam, Saeed Ghani and Syed Sohail Abidi condemned the target killing of their activist. Separately a young man identified as Khalid son of Sami, who was shot injured on Wednesday on Nishtar Road in the limits of Nabi Bux Police Station succumbed to his injuries at Civil Hospital Karachi during treatment.
