Iran underlines further expansion of ties with Pakistan

Tehran : Iran's Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi stressed Tehran's enthusiasm for further development of bilateral relations and mutual cooperation with Pakistan.

Speaking in ceremony at residence of Pakistan's Charge d'Affaires to Iran Aman Rashid, Salehi said that annual trade between Iran and Pakistan is around $1.2 billion.Rashid said Pakistan's Interior Minister Rehman Malik Wednesday met President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad."Theobject of his meeting was to continue process of growing bilateral contacts at high level officials' level." He said economic ties between both countries have capacity to reach $4 billion. "To facilitategas pipeline construction between two countries, a Pakistan delegation recently had talks with Iranianofficials in Tehran. The completion of multi billion dollar gas pipeline project is underway." PPI
