Cricket: Pakistan should clean sweep against WI: Zaheer Abbas

Karachi : Former Test cricketer Zaheer Abbas Thursday said that Pakistan cricket team should outclass West Indies in the One Day series, which begins 23rd April in St Lucia, as the hosts wouldn’t be having its key players during the series.
“West Indies wouldn’t be having its experienced players Chris Gayle, Shivnarine Chanderpaul and Ramnaresh Sarwan during the series, so it shouldn’t be difficult for Pakistan to emphatically win the series,” Zaheer Abbas told PPI.The West Indian top trio would at least not be playing for their team in first two ODIs. With the triomissing, the highest-ranked West Indies batsman is Dwayne Bravo in 76th position.“Pakistan is almost taking a full-fledge team to West Indies while the hosts, who would already be underdogs in the series, would direly feel the absence of its top batsmen,” he said.    Zaheer said that all the aces are in Pakistan’s hand as they would also have psychological advantage of having beaten West Indies by 10 wickets in the quarterfinal of World Cup.    Zaheer also advised the young players to stay focused during the series and whenever they got a chancethey should exploit on it and make their presence felt in the international arena.  “Moreover, it would be a great opportunity for Pakistani youngsters to showcase their talent and make their place in the team,” he said. -PPI
