ISLAMABAD : Minister for Information and Broadcasting Dr. Firdous
Ashiq Awan has condemned and regretted the incident
of maltreatment of the media persons at Zarai Traqiati Bank in Islamabad on
Wednesday.
Speaking in the National Assembly, she said that those involved in the
incident will be brought to justice and the security in-charge who manhandled
the media persons has already been arrested. She said that Interior Minister
Rehman Malik has also ordered a judicial inquiry and registration of FIR into
the incident.
She said that twenty-four hours have been given to the Islamabad Police for
the recovery of equipment including cameras from the persons involved in this
despicable act.
Earlier Finance Minister Dr. Abdul Hafeez Sheikh laid before the House the
Fiscal Policy Statement and the Debt Policy Statement for the year
2010-2011. SANA
