ISI enjoying full backing of govt: PM Yousuf Gilani

ISLAMABAD : Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani, on Wednesday, said that enemies are propagating against security agencies of the country, national institutions and nuclear program but nuclear assets of Pakistan are fully secure and ISI enjoying full support of the civilian government.

Prime Minister Gilani, while addressing the inaugural ceremony of a model rural health centre at Bhara Khau near Islamabad, said that Islamabad is representing all the four provinces and late Benazir Bhutto was the symbol of federation.
Prime Minister said, following the vision of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto, the government is determined to make Pakistan a real democratic welfare state.
He said that these leaders made matchless struggle for the rights of people, strengthening of state institutions besides giving a consensus constitution. He said that present PPP government restored that constitution.
Prime Minister said the people stand by the armed forces in the war against terrorists because the PPP led government has unified the nation against the terrorism.
He said government will utilize all possible resources to eliminate the mince of terrorism and extremism from the country.
Prime Minister made it clear that the PPP government will never compromise on the self respect, sovereignty and integrity of the country.
The Prime Minister referring to Pak-US relations said Pakistan intends to have good and friendly relations with the United States on the basis of mutual respect.
He said the nuclear assets of Pakistan are fully secure and in safe hands but the enemies of Pakistan are disseminating false and baseless propagating about our nuclear program.
Prime Minister said that ISI is enjoying full back up from the government in its operations because Intelligence agencies are answerable to the government and can’t do any thing on their own behalf .
Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani said that the government will not allow any of the National Institution including Parliament and the Judiciary to be weaker.
He added that about the issue of Remand Davis the government was silent because the case was in court and when the court decided the case then why others should be blamed for.
PM Gilani said that there is a visible difference between PPP and other political parties as in PPP the leadership offer sacrifices and in other groups only the workers offer their lives.
He said President Zardari spends eight years in jail and he himself imprisoned for five years but never compromise.
Prime Ministers said that many magicians of politics appear in TV talk shows have claimed that the present government will not complete its tenure but after thirty six months he is still in government and will complete his term.
The Prime Minister said he challenge those elements who want to come into power through back doors and claim support of the young generation saying they must wait for next election and contest PPP in polls.
Prime Minister Gilani said he asked the Interior Minister Rehman Malik to insure free registration of youth attain the age of eighteen and procure their names in voter lists then these people will see who enjoy the support of youths.
He said that the government has adopted people friendly policies to resolve the problems being faced by the people and expressed the confidence that PPP will again emerge as the majority party in the next election. SANA
