town where the gubernatorial vote delayed by religious rioting was to take
place.
Polling stations had few people Thursday morning waiting in line in the city of Kaduna, where rioting began after Nigeria's April 16 presidential election. Bauchi state was also supposed to hold its election today.
At least 500 people died in violence in the north as Muslims supporting an opposition candidate rioted when it became clear Goodluck Jonathan, a Christian, would win. Christians later carried out reprisal attacks. AP
