US offers brief team visit to Pakistan over investigation’s finding

ISLAMABAD: US Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Martin E. Dempsey has offered to send a briefing team to brief Pakistani security establishment on the investigation findings.

Official sources from Washington via an e-mail Friday informed Online that on December 21 the, General Dempsey in telephonic contact notified General Ashfaq Pervez Kayani that the investigation is complete and also offered sending a brief team in this connection.
According to US official record, General James Mattis directly spoke with General Kayani as well and briefed him on the investigation. Over the issues US Ambassador in Islamabad Cameron Munter has met with Foreign Minister Khar.
The official sources said that General Allen and US Ambassador in Kabul Cunningham have met with President Karzai to brief him on the matter. NATO Secretary General and allies have also been briefed on the issue. However, Pakistan has expressed its disagreement with the findings of the investigation over NATO attack on November 26 perishing 24 Pakistani soldiers.
The incident caused tension in Pak-US, Pak-NATO relations triggering order to Americans for vacating Shamsi base besides blocking supply to NATO in Afghanistan via Pakistan.
US is hesitant to offer apology saying Pakistan and American forces shared responsibility of the sad incident. Online
