ISLAMABAD The top brass of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) reiterated
its resolve that all institutions of the state would have to work within
the ambit of the Constitution without trespassing into domain of
others.
A meeting of PPP higher leadership was held on Friday
at Aiwan-e-Sadr, which was chaired by Co-Chairman PPP President Asif Ali
Zardari and Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani.

Spokesperson to the President Farhatullah Babar told the media about
the meeting that the meeting that lasted for about two hours reviewed
overall political situation in the country with special reference to the
most recent developments. The Prime Minister gave comprehensive
briefing on the overall situation.
The meeting reiterated its
unswerving commitment to the principles of parliamentary sovereignty,
constitutionalism and rule of law and said that the Party and the
Government will uphold these principles under all circumstances.
It
said that that the Parliament was supreme and state institutions were
answerable to it. The meeting said that the Party believes in and will
continue to act upon the principle that power belongs to the people and
to nobody else.
Spokesperson said that the meeting reposed full
confidence in the leadership of Co-Chairman President Asif Ali Zardari
and Chief Executive Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani. He said that
the meeting also discussed arrangements for the public meeting in
Garhi Khuda Baksh on December 27 to mark the fourth martyrdom
anniversary of Benazir Bhutto.

Syed Nayyar Hussain Bukhari, Secretary General PPP Jahangir Badar,
federal ministers Chaudhary Ahmed Mukhtar, Rehman Malik, Mian Manzoor
Ahmad Wattoo, Mir Hazar Khan Bijarani, Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah, Syed
Naveed Qamar and senior leaders of the party including Mian Raza
Rabbani, Dr. Babar Awan, Sardar Ali Khan, Nazar Muhammad Gondal, Qamar
Zaman Kaira, Raja Pervez Ashraf, Rana Muhammad Farooq Saeed Khan,
Rukhsana Bangash, Fouzia Waha, Fouzia Habib, Mehreen Anwar Raja,
nominated Ambassador to the USA Sherry Rehman and Spokesperson to the
