Pakistan People’s Party has stated that no inference of any institution to other
is acceptable; adding that no compromise would be done on the supremacy
of the parliament and all institutions of the state would work in their
domain.
A meeting of the PPP core committee was held at Aiwan-e-Sadr on
Friday which was chaired by Co-Chairman PPP President Asif Ali Zardari
and Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani.
The president’s spokesman Farhatullah Babar said the meeting which
lasted for two hours reviewed the overall political situation in the
country with special reference to recent developments. The prime
minister gave a comprehensive briefing on the overall situation.
The meeting reiterated its unswerving commitment to the principles of
parliamentary sovereignty, constitutionalism and rule of law and said
the party and the government would uphold these principles under all
circumstances.
The meeting also reiterated that all institutions of the state have
to work within the ambit of the Constitution without trespassing into
domain of others.
Babar said that the meeting reposed full confidence in the leadership
of Co-Chairman President Asif Ali Zardari and Chief Executive Prime
Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani.
He said that the meeting also discussed arrangements for the proposed
rally in Garhi Khuda Baksh on December 27 to mark the 4th martyrdom
anniversary of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto.
According to sources it was decided to hold Senate elections on March
06, 2012 and many decision were taken for facing the memogate scandal
case in SC.
Sources said that President and Prime Minister have directed senior
leaders to stay in Islamabad. Another high command meeting of PPP is
also expected in course of days, sources said.
Meanwhile the leaders of allied parties also held meetings with
President Asif Ali Zardari including Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, Chaudhry
Parvaiz Illahi, Asfand Yar Wali Khan and Muneer Khan Orakzai. SANA
