The employees of Pakistan Television have written a protest letter to
the administration on the misbehavior of a close friend of an important
federal minister. The employees said that Tayyaba Khanum Bukhari used
to pose pressure on the employees for self- publicity.
She had used vulgar language to the controller news by making a phone
call and informed him about severe consequences for not following her
directions.
The details of the letter states that the employees of newsroom
stopped working in protest and restarted work after the insurance of
administration.
While Tayyaba refused that she did not have any clash with any body,
adding that she had requested for a driver from the federal minister for
the pick and drop of her kids from the school but now she appointed her
private driver.
She said that she had refused the journey along with information
minister to Norway, adding that the information minister told her that
such type of occasions not come again and again in life.
A letter was written by the employees of news centre to the
administration, which states that a compare of program of Pakistan
Television and close friend of a Federal Minister, Tayyaba Khanum
Bukhari made a phone call to the controller news Shazia Sikandar on 5
November.
Tayyaba Khanum used vulgar language against Shazia Sikandar for not giving proper time in the program date line Pakistan.
Shazia Sikandar respectfully behaved with Tayyaba Khanum while Khanum
Bukhari used vulgar language against the employees and administration
of PTV and threatened for facing strict results for not following her
directions and dropped the call without listening any explanation from
Shazia Sikandar and Shazia Sikandar complained against the behavior of
Tayyaba Khanum to the administration.
After the complaint the situation become critical and the employees
of newsroom stopped working but the staff restarted working after the
promise made by the administration to raise the issue before the high
officials.
The letter also stated that the staff of the ministry of information
and broadcasting also visited PTV and they were informed about the
misbehavior of a private person to the employees of PTV.
Before this Tayyaba Khanum misbehaved with the make up artist for not
sending make up artist to her home for make up instead of that her
program cannot be broadcasted on that day, adding that she misbehaved
many times with the staff for personal publicity but PTV newsroom and
current affairs department refused to give her personal publicity.
She also demanded that news flash (red tickers) of her name should be
played for her publicity and she should given extra coverage in the
news and promotion of her foundation should also be made.
The letter also stated that the news are broadcasted directly and
have limited time for recorded current affair programs, so we do not
given extra coverage to private person which does not have any position
in the government but she complained to federal minister regarding this.
The letter stated that according to its policy the PTV newsroom had
given coverage to the prime minister, president and other senior
ministers, but Tayyaba Khanum wants personal publicity due to which we
had postponed important events of senior ministers and important
government officials.
It is requested in the letter that if the MD and Chairman PTV and
information minister take steps in this regard and if high officials of
PTV thinks that they have needed to change the policy of broadcasting
then they inform the staff by a written notification.
On the other hand, when Tayyaba Khanum was contacted by “SANA” she
said that she did not have any clash with the staff of newsroom.
When she was questioned regarding the use of government driver,
vehicle, cook and other staff, she said that due to her personal
engagements she did not have a driver to pick and drop for her kids from
the school, adding that she requested for a driver from the information
minister on personal relations and she does not know where he is a
government employee or personal driver of information minister;
meanwhile she had appointed a personal driver on Thursday after
“Istakhara”.
About the Norway visit, she said that I did not intend to go with the
Information Minister on Norway visit, adding that the information
minister said that such opportunities seldom come in life and I should
take benefit of the opportunity; meanwhile she said that later on
Firdous Ashiq Awan through Information Secretary Taimur Azmat Usman
asked me to go with her on the visit.
She said that the visa of Norway was acquired the day when we were going to Norway visit.
According to the sources Tayyba Khanum Bukhari is the hoist of PTV
programme “Ujalon Ka Safar” and this programme only broadcasted for 100
minutes in a month; meanwhile the pay of the programme is to 375,000.
According to the sources no other anchor of the PTV receives such heavy amount of 100 minutes programme. SANA
