Islamabad: Amid a raging political storm in Pakistan, former
ambassador Mehmood Durani Saturday denied his role in secret memorandum
calling his name related to memo ‘nonsense’.
Talking to a
private channel Durani said there was no way that he and Gen. Jahangir
Karamat could be involved in the ‘wrong deed’.
He said he was
never consulted or contacted for writing this memorandum adding that how
could he invite US forces to intervene in Pakistani soil.
Durani said he even did not know main character Mansoor Ijaz nor he ever met him in the United States.
He said this was a serious and very sensitive issue that must be investigated comprehensively.
On a query he admitted that unconventional methods use in diplomacy but in this case it seems a conspiracy against Pakistan. Online
