PML-N should respect PPP mandate: PM Gilani

Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has said that the PPP has accepted the mandate of the PML-N in Punjab instead of some reservations, adding that the leadership of PML-N should show maturity and should prepare for the next elections over its performance.

President has constitutionally consulted the opposition leader in National Assembly, adding that the consultation does not mean that the name would be taken from opposition leader.
This he said while talking to media persons after holding meeting with PML-Q President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and Senior Minister Chaudhry Pervez Elahi on Sunday.
He said that I am thankful to the PML-Q over their support of Seraiki province, adding that the resolution has been moved in the Punjab assembly and it would be determined in the assembly weather the announcement of Mian Nawaz Sharif in Dera Ghazi Khan for the support of Seraiki and Bahawalpur provinces was implemented or not.
Prime minister said that the PML-Q is allied party of PPP and it was the second largest party in previous elections, adding that it was chance for PML-N that it could make alliance with PML-Q in past, adding that we would continue working with PML-Q in future also.
He said that the next elections would be held in 2013 and all should contest these elections over the previous performance, adding that the next elections would be conducted under the supervision of an independent Election Commission.
He said that the PML-N is under pressure and facing challenge of Imran Khan and is also scarred of the next Senate elections, adding that both PML-N and Tehreek-e-Insaf are criticizing PPP.
He said that the armed forces should not be dragged in politics, adding that the military is working for the protection of the masses, adding that the politics of Punjab is not separate from Pakistan.
He said that the announcement of Mian Shahbaz Sharif for not accepting the elections under the elected president is unconstitutional step, adding that the people are fed up with the politics of confrontation.
He said that we respect the release of Moonis Elahi by judiciary, adding that Saif-ur-Rehman had registered cases against me but I never complaint over this.
Replying the question regarding the reopening of cases against Nawaz Sharif, said that the PPP would not do any political victimization.
He said that the judiciary of the country is supporting the democratic system and has no intention to derail the democratic system, adding that all the decisions of the judiciary are being implemented.
He said that the people would vote in next elections by keeping in mind the previous performance and manifesto for the next elections.
He said that the relations with America are being improved, adding that national interests of the country would be kept in mind during the relations with US, adding that leadership of the country showed solidarity regarding protection of national security in APC.
He said that after wining the seat in UNO the impression of being isolated should be ended, adding that the statement of Afghan President Hamid Karazi to Pakistan during any foreign aggression and vote of India in support of Pakistan shows that the foreign policy is on right track.
He said that I have offered condolences over the death of Begum Nusrat Bhutto with President Zardari and the grieved family of Nusrat Bhutto.
