Principal Post Graduate Medical College Professor Tariq Salahudin has said that
5,937 dengue affected patients were discharged from General Hospital
after recovery in last 52 days, adding that only 84 dengue patients are
still under treatment in the hospital.
This he said while talking to media persons here on Sunday, adding
that doctors, nurses and paramedical staff is on alert for 24 hours for
the treatment of the dengue patients.
Professor Tariq Salahuddin said that on the directions of the Chief
Minister Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif the free of cost treatment is being
provided to the dengue patients.
He said that the media, Ulema, social and medical organizations
played vital role for the creation of awareness among the masses against
dengue, adding that after the efforts of above mentioned people there
is great decrease in dengue patients being observed.
He said that the dengue is a big social problems and the whole
society should play its due role against dengue virus, adding that in
the result of the Health Education Programme initiated by General
Hospital the counseling of masses is being done of dengue patients which
is being yielded positive results.
He said that different programmes and seminars are being organized to
create awareness among the masses and doctors and researches also could
gain knowledge about the disease.
Professor Tariq Salahuddin said that to avert the dengue from
becoming the viral disease next year the joint efforts of government,
health department, masses and other institutions are needed, adding that
the war against dengue could not be won until we would not clean the
streets and towns. SANA
