Pak ambassador in UN appeals world community to help flood affectees

NEW YORK: Pakistan ambassador in UN Abdullah Hussain Haroon has met UN Secretary General (SG) Ban ki-moon and urged that UN should appeal to international community for providing assistance to flood affectees in Pakistan.

It may be mentioned that UN has not made any formal announcement regarding appeal to international community for extending relief goods for the flood affected people of Pakistan.
However, the concerned officials have recently visited the flood hit areas including Badin, Thatta, and other areas and sent their preliminary report to the UN Headquarters.
During meeting with UN, SG Ban Ki-moon, Abdullah Hussain Haroon also discussed the UN reports and recommendations regarding assistance of flood affectees.
On the occasion, Ban Ki-moon expressed his grief and sorrow over the causalities because of devastating flood and offered full support for the flood victims. Online
