Army continues efforts on 3rd consecutive day to combat dengue virus

LAHORE: Army efforts to assist the civil administration in combating the raging dengue virus continued the third consecutive day, sayhs a press release issued by ISPR.

The paramedical staff during the three days of establishment of free medical camps by Pak Army have so far attended around 12,000 persons for diagnosis. According to figures available, blood samples of 7076 persons suspected of symptoms were screened for verification of the disease. While over 332 confirmed dengue patients were provided free medication and treatment. About 120 acutely infected cases have been so far admitted in CMH Lahore, where over 100 bed facility has been exclusively designated for free of cost treatment of civil patients. A total number of 25 patients were discharged, today, from CMH after completion of treatment and recovery.
It may be mentioned that Pakistan Army has installed latest state of the art blood screening machines at the free medical camps to facilitate effective and timely diagnosis of the general public. The presence of people in such large numbers at these camps amply explains public trust and confidence in the effective delivery system by Army medics. Online
