ISLAMABAD: German Ambassador to Pakistan Dr. Michael Koch met with
Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar on Wednesday and delivered an
invitation letter to attend the Bonn Conference on Afghanistan.
During
the meeting Dr. Michael Koch informed the Foreign Minster that the
conference is scheduled on December 5, 2011, which would be held in
Bonn, Germany.
The Foreign Minister underscored that Pakistan
was committed to a stable and peaceful Afghanistan and would continue
to play its role to achieve this objective.
Hina Rabbani Khar
said that stability and development of the region were Pakistan’s
priorities and that it strongly believed in the principles of
sovereignty, territorial integrity and undiminished security for all
states of the region.
Foreign Minister Khar also expressed
Pakistan’s support for the reconciliation process that is owned and led
by the Afghans themselves.
She also noted that any initiative
or process undertaken by the international community for the stability,
peace and security of Afghanistan, must be rooted in ground realities
and should have regional ownership. Online
