130 persons killed in recent rains in Sindh: Chairman NDMA

NDMA Chairman Zafar Qadir has said that in Sindh province the infra structure has been badly destroyed and so for one hundred and thirty persons have died in the floods.

In his briefing to media here on Wednesday, he said that various roads including Karachi-Badin have been severely damaged and are not usable.
He said the Government has decided to launch a national appeal to help their flood hit brothers.
He said from now NDMA distributes weekly ration to the flood affectees through Utility Stores and CSD. He said fifty thousand food packets are being provided on daily basis. Federal government has provided forty three thousand tents while eighteen thousand more are reaching till tomorrow.
Mr. Qadir said that a United Nations team will visit tomorrow to the flood affected areas and will meet the provincial leadership. He said so for four million people have been affected.
Chairman NDMA says that 8.5 million aqua tablets are available in the flood hit areas and one table is enough to clean water for a family in one day. He said anti-malaria medicines are available too. SANA
