Suicide bombers storm the governor compound in Afghanistan

KABUL: Six suicide bombers have attacked his compound in eastern Afghanistan, a provincial governor said on Sunday.

According to Parwan provincial governor Abdul Basir Salangi, several people have been killed in Sunday’s coordinated attack on the walled compound in the city of Charikar, northeast of Kabul.
He does not know the precise death toll so far. Witnesses say they heard at least five explosions near the palace and that fighting is ongoing.
Officials said the attack occurred during a provincial security meeting.
