ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani has said that
Country’s defense was impregnable, and anybody’s hegemony over
sovereignty would not be tolerated.
Addressing the Flag
Hoisting ceremony at Convention Center on Independence Day, alongwith
all three Army Chiefs, CJCSC, Parliamentarians, high-ranking officials
and respected citizens, PM Yousaf Raza Gilani exhorted all to come with
their best foot forward in service of their Country, as it was
everybody’s joint duty to absolve their Federation of Crisis.
PM,
Yousaf Raza Gilani paid glowing tributes to zealous and priceless
sacrifices of Army laid for the cause of Federation, during it
relentless war against terrorism.
He also cited measures taken
for amelioration of women, enabling them to play their due role in
National affairs, assured that government keenly desired independence
of judiciary, and minorities were fully assured of their religious
freedom and rights: while masses would soon provided relief from
morbidity of loadsheddings.
Lauding Pak-China Friendship, he
affirmed his resolve to strengthen it further, while he also paid
glowing tributes to Saudi Arabia’s brotherly fraternity.
He
said that India was a perpetual neighbor, with whom Pakistan was
willing to settle all disputes and issues through conducive and
peaceful dialogue.
He also pledged Pakistan’s strong moral,
diplomatic, political and ethical support for the cause of Kashmir, and
while reiterating Pakistan’s respect for others’ sovereignty and
internal affairs, vowed not to accept anybody’s hegemony in the region.
A one-minute silence was also observed, while participants stood
up to welcome the PM; while after Flag Hoisting, children also rendered
