Joint declaration of Pak-India rangers’ meeting issued

Pakistani Rangers Force and Indian Border Security Force have issued joint declaration with pledge to stopping the indiscriminate firing at the border and repatriate the persons who would mistakenly cross the border.

Pakistani and Indian Rangers officials meeting was held at the joint check post Wagah.
Pakistani delegation was lead by Brigadier Wali Muhammad and Indian delegation was lead by DIG Sri Wasu Diwan, who said that dialogues should be result-oriented meaningful, adding that he has directed the Indian border security force to avoid the human rights violations instead of the fact that the citizen is from Pakistan or India.
Brigadier Wali Muhammad said that during the meeting all the matters related to the border were discussed. However, seizing indiscriminate border firing and without any delay of repatriation of persons who mistakenly cross the border was discussed.
After session, a joint declaration has been issued in which both delegations were emphasized on the need of increasing bilateral cooperation.
According to declaration, both the countries emphasized to take stern action against stopping of smuggling and stress was also laid on the need of taking effective measures for stopping the cross border firing.
They said that the matters related to the construction of the defence installation neat the border would be solved amicably; meanwhile both countries also agreed to encourage the local commanders for the solution of the petty matters at the borders. SANA
