Free polls in Kashmir fulfilled our promise: Manzoor Ahmed Wattoo

Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs Mian Manzoor Ahmed Wattoo said believe it or not we have fulfilled our promise by holding free and fair elections in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

Talking to a private TV channel Wattoo said the doubted voter lists were corrected and verified by the concerned politicians and by their will the elections were held on the same voter lists on June 26.
He said our top priority is to provide relief to the Kashmiri people, improve the situation and introduce the moderate face of Pakistan to the world by holding free and fair election here.
He said I held several meetings with Jamaat-e- Islami, Muslim Conference and Raja Farooq Haider to ensure the free and fair elections and we implemented their suggestions, adding that I congratulated Raja Farooq on his win in the polls on phone call, he said.
Talking on the occasion Azad Jammu and Kashmir former Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider said there has been a record rigging in the polls as government donated millions of rupees of Benazir Bhutto Income Support Program (BISP) in every constituency to buy votes.
Raja Farooq said it is binding on Pakistan government under UN resolution to establish good governance in Kashmir and polls are just a part of it but June 26th polls have violated the sanctity of ballot. SANA
