ISLAMABAD: Chairman, Capital Development Authority (CDA) Imtiaz
Inayat Elahi has presented a Rs. 23,996.16 million budget for Fiscal
year 2011-2012 here on Thursday.
The engineering wing took the
lion’s share, with Rs. 6260.37 million i.e 52 per cent. Finance &
Administration wing followed Rs. 200.00 million and Rs. 250.00 million
respectively, while Rs. 784.02 million has been allocated to Planning
and Design wing.
Unlike Fiscal budget 2010, where environment
wing had taken the share with Rs. 500.00 million, but this time round,
the said wing followed the increase with Rs. 300.00 million, as it took
total share of Rs. 800.00 million for further development of the
capital city.
Moreover, Rs. 1984.70 million allocated to Estate
Management Wing and Rs. 1834 million followed reserves for emergency
use of the money on mega projects or somewhere else.
The
Chairman has assured considerable progress for improving the road
network across the city, maintenance works and shopping centers along
with some new small sector projects.
The Chairman also gave
special priority to new works expected to be taken up, as directed
during Fiscal year 2011-2012 under self Financing account.
According
to the report Rs. 584.70 million allocated for the development of park
enclave, whereas Rs. 300.00 million for up-gradation of mini markets,
Rs. 150.00 million for provision of health services, up gradation of
CDA dispensaries and installation/improvement of filtration plants.
Similarly,
Rs. 150.00 million allocated for beautification and people friendly
environment projects, although development of City centre F-7,
Islamabad, cleaning of nullahs and ravines, development of sector I-15,
Islamabad and extension of Kurri road upto Simly dam road, Islamabad
took the allocation of Rs. 100.00 million for each project.
Likewise,
Rs. 50.00 million for rain water harvesting projects, Rs. 50.00 million
for Ankara Park and Rs. 50.00 million for tourism allocated in budget
2011-2012.
In the same way, Rs.200.00 million allocated for
Prime minister’s CDA rapid CNG bus transit that would be launched soon
under the direction of the Chairman with the assistance of Ministry of
Petroleum.
On the other hand Rs. 50.00 million allocated for
anti-littering and water conservation programs, while the Chairman said
that private firms would be welcomed in anti-littering project to dump
the collected litter for multiple uses like to create energy. He added
