US not taken Pak into confidence on dialogues with Taliban: Hussain Haqqani

Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States Hussain Haqqani has said that America did not take Pakistan into confidence about the dialogues with Taliban and Pakistani Consulate in US issued visas after clearance and formal approval from Pakistani Foreign Office.

In an interview with a private TV channel, he aid that comprehensive and meaningful dialogue should take place about the joint operation with America, adding that Pakistan is not included in the dialogues process but America assured that it will take Pakistan into confidence.
Haqqani said that good relations with neighbors always benefited the countries so good relations with Afghanistan are in the interest of Pakistan and current government trying to improve the relations with all neighbors including Afghanistan because tense relations with any country is not in the favor of Pakistan.
Replying a question, he said that America told that it is not bound to end the war until the start of dialogues on governmental level and dialogues are in the initial stages, adding that it is difficult process because Taliban do not have any headquarters where meetings can be conducted.
He said that Pakistan wanted a stable government in Afghanistan and foreign powers should not stay for long time and Pakistan is ready to facilitate all parties for the stability of Afghanistan. However, no one should hope more than this because Afghan leadership will decide the future of Afghanistan.
He said that he informed America in details and protested that Taliban came from Afghanistan into Pakistan to attack and America and allied forces do not stop them, adding that Pakistan should not be blamed because it is a truth that militants are present on both sides of border and they attacked both countries so we should move forward jointly to eliminate them.
Haqqani said that in the understanding with America it is mentioned that if Pakistan shares intelligence when America will do so otherwise it would be difficult for Pakistan to share intelligence with America.
Replying a question about visas to CIA officials he said that embassies issued visas in the entire world and all visas were issued according to process after the security clearance as almost one million Pakistanis received the US visa, adding that it is not an issue in the international relations because people of both countries visits each other for intelligence sharing.
Replying another question, ambassador said that American masses has their own lives and problems and they are much concerned about the every news happening in Pakistan and concluded that every news do not have reaction in diplomacy. SANA
