President Zardari misuses power to rig AJK elections: PML (N)

LAHORE: MNAs from PML(N) Khawaja Saad Rafiq and Hamza Shahbaz has said that Aiwan-e-Sadr is exploiting its influence to change the elections results of AJK Legislative Assembly . Zardari should stop playing with the democracy.

They were addressing a joint press conference at Model Town here on Sunday. They warned the government that if they try to change the majority into minority , PML(N) after consultation with apex leadership of the party would reply the move in befitting matter.
Saad Rafiq was of the view that federal government tried to hijack the elections. When they saw that the can not win the seat from Lahore , they advised Governor to postponed the election, who acted upon it.
“PML(N) indicated 15 days earlier that the voters lists were incomplete .We also knocked the door of High Court, on which the court ordered to rectify the voter’s list but Election Commission AJK did not care the court orders . As a matter of fact, EC AJK has become the party of federal government”, Khawaja added.
He said that the workers of PML(N) were subjected to physical torture at polling stations , whereas Raja Nisar was murdered Government turned no stone unturn to carry out high level rigging in the polls. He said that fair elections is impossible in presence of PPP government in the country.
It is the track record of PPP to get power by hook or crook . If they accepted their defeat , the division of the country could be avoided . The people of AJK are not supporting Zardari as they have seen the plight of Pakistan under his rule.
On the occasion Hamza Shahbaz said that Governor Punjab, Raja Riaz and Samina Ghurki used the polling station as their political sitting place. He said that the even workers of PPP were astonished to see the voter’s lists. He said that the law of jungle can not be prevailed in the country.
“The government is damaging Kashmir cause by rigging in AJK polls and such a shameful deed is expected from the present government only”, he added. Online
