The first round of Pakistan-China military staff talks was held between
the delegations of both the armed forces at Joint Staff Headquarters
Chaklala on Wednesday. The Chinese delegation led by Deputy Chief of Foreign Affairs Office, Ministry of National Defence, China, Major General Jia Xiaoning held talks with the Pakistan delegation led by Director General Joint Staff, Lieutenant General Muhammad Asif.
The meeting commenced with a call on by the Chinese delegation on Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Khalid Shameem Waynne.
Both sides discussed ways and means of further enhancing and deepening the existing multifaceted cooperation in the field of training, mutual exchanges, counter terrorism exercises and collaboration in defence production.
At the end of these staff talks two agreements were signed to further consolidate existing cooperation between the armed forces of Pakistan and China. APP
