A Pak Army Brigadier is under arrest and facing investigations about his alleged relations with banned Islamic extremists out fits of the country,
a BBC Urdu report claimed.
Pak Army Spokes Person Major General Athar Abbas has verified the news. Talking to a private TV channel he said Brigadier Ali khan, who was in charge of drafting army regulations, is under investigation and he had links with banned Hizbul Tahrir organization.
He further said that there are some people in institutions which result in disrepute of the institution. “We follow zero tolerance policy of such activities within the military therefore prompt action was taken on detection,” Abbas said.
He said the real home of Hizbul Tahrir is India where it is not banned while because of its anti state activities it is banned in Pakistan.
Pak Army Brigadier Ali Khan was deployed at GHQ in its Regulation Directorate since two years. Ali Khan family told that he did not came home on May 6th and was told by his office that he is under interrogation and would return home soon.
Sources told though no charge sheet has yet surfaced against the brigadier but Pak Army highest investigation cell called Special Investigation Branch (SIB) is investigating his alleged relations with a banned militant organization.
Ali Khan family is connected to Pak Army since three generations and this is the sole reason for the leadership of Pak Army that such men of deep connection are found involved in such notorious activities.
Ali’s father was a junior commissioned officer in Pak Army, while his young brother is also a colonel and serving in an important intelligence institution of the country while his son and son in law are both captains in Pak Army.
Keeping this longstanding relationship with Pak Army, Ali’s relatives are reluctant to talk to media or going to court and are hopeful that he would be released soon. SANA
