Sailors freed from Somali pirates to reach Karachi on Thursday

The 22 merchant navy sailors of MV Suez freed from the Somali pirates will reach Karachi on June 23 on board PNS Zulfiqar. Sindh Governor, Dr. Ishrat-ul-Ebad Khan, will greet the freed merchant navy sailors who  include four Pakistanis. The others are Indian, Sri Lankan and Egyptian sailors.
They had remained in captivity  of  Somali pirates for about 10 months.
All the 22 freed merchant navy sailors would be taken to the Governor House where a reception would be hosted for them.
The Pakistani sailors would meet their family members after a period of 10 months.
The Governor praised the Pakistan Navy for provision of protection to the freed sailors and said that all the institutions played their role in this connection. APP
