China to start delivering railway coaches to Pakistan from September

China is expected to start delivery of  railway coaches to Pakistan Railways (PR) from September this year that would certainly help improve railways operational efficiency. A 15-member PR delegation in this regard is currently on study tour  till July 4 to China to acquaint themselves about their maintenance and examine other technical aspects of these coaches.

Under an agreement the Changchun Railway Company will provide 202  coaches to PR and all is set to deliver first batch of around 50 bogies in September.
The delegation is comprised of members from Carriage Factory  Islamabad, Railway Divisions of Karachi and Lahore. The manager  procurement, Pakistan Railway Munawar Khan is leading the delegation, company source said.
They will study the production, their quality, design, painting, mechanical and operational aspects.
The company source said that on departure of the first delegation, three more such delegations from Pakistan Railways are expected to visit China.APP
