ISLAMABAD : Standing Committee of National Assembly for Human Rights recommended Chief of Army Staff through Ministry of Defense military operation in Parachnar.
The committee also recommended to declare the area as effected area.
Standing Committee directed to constitute the committee to observe the
implementations under the head of adviser to prime minister for human
rights.
The Chairman of Standing Committee Riaz Fatina chaired the committee meeting in parliament house on Friday.
The Committee summoned the Secretary Petroleum and Natural Resources
and MD of Pakistan Mines Development Corporation after the killings of
42 workers in mine due to lack of security measures and committee
directed to pay 0.7 million compensation money families with in one
week.
The Committee requested Prime Minister to intervene in stopping
scholarships for one thousand information technology students. The
Committee also directed for the admission of Natasha in the same school
and for her financial aid.
During the meeting, Secretary Mines Balochistan told the committees
that investigation report about the death of 43 workers in mine are
submitted to Chief Minister, adding that 13 responsible are nominated
and two dead labors are included.
He informed the committee that in the absence of strict legislation
related to mines is the cause of ignoring the security measures and
four thousand and one year prison is the only punishment for violating
the law.
The committee after asking tough questioning session ordered the
Secretary to file the case in the related court. The Committee summoned
Secretary Petroleum and Natural Resources in the next meeting.
The Committee also observed the case of a 15 years student from
Taxila and Committee delivered the message to student that she should
not be afraid of any one, committee is with her.
The committee directed interior ministry to investigate the issue of
FC personnel that they are receiving money from truck drivers in
Parachinnar.
The Committee recommended to initiate special air service,
restoration of health and education centers and to declare the area as
effected area.
The committee to observe the implementation of its recommendations
in the head of adviser, and other members would be from ministry of
defense, ministry of interior and DG national disaster management. SANA
