Pak's Tehrik-e Insaf to protest against drone strikes in Karachi

Pakistan's Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has asked his party workers to block the activities at Karachi Port in protest against the United Stated-led drone strikes.

Calling on Karachi residents to join the strike, he said his party workers would sit outside the main gate of the port continuously from Saturday afternoon to Sunday evening and block trucks carrying NATO supplies, The Nation reports.
He criticized the ruling Pakistan's People Party (PPP) for failing to halt the drone strikes. He said Pakistani legislators could do nothing except passing the resolutions to which the US was indifferent.
Law enforcement agencies have granted permission to the party to stage a sit-in against drone strikes. Superintendent of Police Keemari Tariq Mughal said law enforcement agencies had chalked out their contingency plan to avoid any untoward incident during the sit-in. He requested the Tehrik-e-Insaf leadership to stage peaceful protest and not to damage any public property.
Imran Khan ruled out an alliance with the Nawaz League party and said the PTI would never be a part of a coalition government. (ANI)
